Following Jesus will make me into someone who can love like Jesus does. (Matthew 4:19) To love one another (John 13:34).
The resurrection of Jesus is the fulcrum of our belief – it’s not about deserving, it’s about the grace of God.
The parable of the sower didn’t make sense! No one in their right mind would waste precious seeds by spreading them in areas where plants could not grow. However, there was a purpose!
Our fundamental sin-filled selves are always seeking to be our own god (idolatry) – It’s my life and I’m in charge of it. People who rise above and succeed in forging their own path can be very inspiring too!
Our faith in Christ moves us towards good works, but those works do not earn us salvation. I simply can’t live up to God’s holy standards without Jesus’ death on the cross redeeming me… and you too!
