Here are a few lessons I learned while on a liquid diet recovering from oral surgery.
Use well what you are given vs. do nothing. “even more will be given” –> enter into the presence of the Father.
The Christian life is not about behavior modification – not about staying on top of things, but rather getting to the root – the bottom – the heart of things.
“Well done” is not like steaks – it’s not how much is enough, but it’s did you use or not use your gifts?
Our faith in Christ moves us towards good works, but those works do not earn us salvation. I simply can’t live up to God’s holy standards without Jesus’ death on the cross redeeming me… and you too!
We are longing for home… rest. In this world, our homes are fragile – can be destroyed. Sometimes our home doesn’t feel like home.
The Mexican Petunia is so deeply rooted that you can’t ever really get it out. It’s an attractive, but invasive weed. This is exactly how sin is in our lives.
We see ourselves as human beings, people going about life. God sees us as vessels, made by His hands, meant to contain the Holy Spirit and spill over with His glory pouring into/over others.
Canvas & Clay (Barrett), God I Look to You (Bethel), Simplicity (Rend Collective), What a Beautiful Name (Hillsong), Who You Say I Am (Hillsong), Yes & Amen (Anthem Lights)
We are all being molded & formed by what we consume.
